Connecting Renewable Energy Supergrids
—and—
Secretary Clinton Calls For Open Trade, Open Borders For Electric Grid

Dear GENI Friend,

Supergrids: large scale power networks that carry energy from wind and solar farms across international borders. Why? To tap clean and cheap renewable energy from distant regions to supply our cities and industrial centers.

These electric networks already exist throughout the developed world. They link large power generators via high-voltage transmission lines, delivering electricity to our homes and businesses.

Grid investments are projected to grow to $10B per year in the coming decade.

The awareness and benefits of these “electric energy highways” has now reached all nations. In the recent presidential debate, Secretary Hillary Clinton called for “open trade and open borders.” Explaining further, "You know, we trade more energy with our neighbors than we trade with the rest of the world combined, and I do want us to have an electric grid, an energy system that crosses borders."

We now have the Asian Supergrid, Connect the Americas 2022, Africa’s Clean Power Plan “Cairo to Cape Town” and linking renewable energy being discussed in the US election. These supergrid projects require government leadership, engineering development and massive finance. The stars are aligning in our direction, so please give these projects your support.
